Just before lockdown, we had the pleasure to shoot this power lady I-Mei as our new cover woman. We met I-Mei online, where we were looking for models who would love to be a part of a well planned photoshoot to uplift their portfolio and create visual memories together.

 

One of the first to respond was I-Mei, she was interested in doing a shoot and contacted me to see what was possible. She was looking for a photographer who would be able to do the shoot, but would spend the same amount of time in the post production. As she had done shoots before, which were great, but would be better with a little bit of extra work.  

I created an mood-board that would match her look and personality. I-Mei may be petite, but she's strong and independent woman who's going to be taking Dublin by storm in 2021.

She was born and raised in Taiwan, now living in our capital Amsterdam, but taking a leap with confidence to start her next chapter 

 

During the shoot we had the opportunity to ask her some question and find out who I-Mei is and what her near future plans are.

What’s your current role?

I have been in the advertising industry for about 3 years, currently working at a social media company as a partner manager.

What’s your ultimate goal (in life)?

My ultimate goal is to work and live in as many countries as possible.

What’s your biggest achievement so far?

My biggest achievement is probably that I left my family and friends to come to the Netherlands by myself when I was 18 years old. Not knowing anyone and the culture was a bit scary, but here I am, working for a Dutch Companies and having a Dutch boyfriend :) 

State your philosophy about life, work, health or beauty? 

I don’t really have philosophy about life, but there’s a quote of Steve Jobs it’s written on my notebook and it says: “You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards.” (So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.)

Please, share with us one quirky, fun fact about yourself? 

I really like dogs, I cannot walk by dogs without petting them on the street. I would bike to friends’ place just to walk their dog. And ask my friends to go on vacation so that I can take care of their dog. 

(We think that’s soo sweet and we can definitely relate to this!)

Another fact is, that I’m originally from Taiwan, an island next to China.
